I am going to college right now to become a future teacher. Some cons about becoming a teacher is, the job takes a lot of time, the money income is not the greatest. One pro about teaching is that you are able to make an impact on many kids lives.

Dustin, while I was in college, I wanted to be a teacher but decided to get into banking. I love what I do, but always wondered what it would have been like to face 25-30 kids a class times 6-7 classes a day. Now I know! My daughter is a middle school Apanish teacher here in the Indy-area and she LOVES it. There are challenging days, students and parents, but she enjoys those challenges. As a banker I can say that money is important but it;s the people you impact that creates teh greatest satisfaction. Be a man with values not 'valuables'. Good luck!

I can tell you from a parents perspective I am glad someone is willing to stand up and lead our children in the right direction. I have a son who has had his share of bad and great teachers. I am glad the really great teachers were able to reach him and inspire him to go in the right direction. I am glad to see more male teachers. My son lost his father due to car accident and it wasn't untill he reached the 5 grade before there was a male teacher that was teaching in the school system my son went to. This male role model was the best thing that could have came into my son's life. He is on the right path now thanks to his angle (teachers) that took the time to get through to him. Teachers never get the pay they deserve and hopefully this will change if people wake up and see what a vaulble resource they are. Stick with it.
